A lot more

To truly stand out in this life takes a lot more effort; effort which can either be in the positive or negative direction.  It's all left for you to decide which side you want to be on.

If you truly want something so badly, you will definitely do what it take to get it or at least get close enough to it.

Also, if you really don't want something at all, you will do all you can to screw things up or to not make meaningful effort at all.

Whether you want it at the top or at the bottom, you have to try, work or do a lot more than every other person in your world.

We won't talk about mediocrity here because with little effort you can just be a  mediocre. Also those that worked hard but still ended up at the bottom, and all those who did virtually nothing but ended up at the top, are not covered in this piece.

You can easily put in a little effort to be one of the bench warmers at a football team, but it's gonna take a lot of messing up or poor performance to be dropped from the team, and so also is it going to take a lot more efforts and exceptionional performance to stand out above the rest.

To blend into the crowd, it's just a little effort that is needed. But to stand out from the crowd, either negatively or posetively you need to be really exceptional.

Anyone can easily become a mediocre student but to be the best or the worst students, it takes a lot more effort in the positive and negative directions respectively.

We are going to shed some light on some of the ways or factors that can make us to truly stand out.

The goal worthiness: when someone is in a situation in which the person believes that the goal is worth a lot to them or the goal is worth their commitment and effort; the person does all it takes to achieve the goal and to be the best.

But When someone does not value the goal of what he or she is doing, the person does not really care about how well they do or perform. They are most times preparing themselves to fail. They refuse to study, they refuse to train, they refuse to network. They just do anything that will make it impossible to succeed.

The circumstance: some people wanted to be in the place they are, or to pursuing what they are pursuing at a particular time, while others were forced or mandated to be in the place they are.

Those who wanted to be doing what they are doing, tend to give it their 100%, but those who were either forced or mandated to be in a place, sometimes looks for ways to ensure that they leave.

Who you are: some people does not know who they are or what they are supposed to be doing. But they are already of a certain age and are supposed to be in certain place or position in life. Not knowing who they are or where they are truly supposed to be always gets them distracted. The self doubt eats really deep into them and messes them up; those people don't know what they want in life yet. They are constantly trying a lot of things out, without caring much of how it affects their current position.

Those who know exactly who they are, what they want, and who are also exactly where they are supposed to be, are always more than excited to do all it takes to be the best.

Lastly, anything that would make you to be at the negative side of doing a lot more, I suggest you sort it out and move to the positive side.

Life is too short to be living in negativity.
